      1. Thanks! Great script. I’d love to see a short tutorial on using the slider controls. I’ll keep playing around with it though.

    1. For unfold from the center you must divide your composition in the middle into two compositions with half-width. The one you use paravent from left to right and the other from right to left. Then, just connect compositions. Here are the pictures for a better idea.

  1. Amazing script, I can’t count how many times I’ve had to rig something like this manually. Thank you!!

    1. Yup I was just gonna post the same exact thing. I end up just not doing it cuz I don’t want to fire up Maya or learn C4D for this…ThankS!!!

      1. A tutorial would be great! I second everyone else who wants it too, please make one if you get the chance πŸ™‚

  2. a script don’t work((when I press button created it displays a window with a long ASIC error what to do?

  3. do these work for mac and if so how do you install them? I’ve tried copying them to the scriptUI Panels folder and it doesn’t do anything, they dont show up in after effects. Ive also tried going into LibraryApplication SupportAdobeCommonsPlug-ins and nothing, help pleaaase I cant find a tutorial that works, anywhere!

  4. Ok – so I got this awesomess working – but does anyone know how the rotate the whole fan together. Tried parenting it to a null breaks the script.

      1. I want to rotate the whole item as a single object. So it is unfolding using the main controls. And the whole thing is spinning as a single piece of paper as well. Hope that is clearer. Normally I would attach all objects to a null and rotate that. But that breaks the script.

        1. Best practice is to just precomp it (and activate “collapse transformation”)

Or you can bake the animation created by the expressions.
          Hope it helps.

  5. Thanks a lot for the great script, a real timesaver. I just wanted to say that in CS5.5 AE crashes when i close the Paravent window. Happens on two different computers running mac. It doesn’t crash when right click the Paravent window and close it using the context menu.

  6. I have a problem. When I try to open the script I get the message:
Unable to execute script at line 131
    Uncaught exception image
Can you help me? Thank you

        1. Looks like there’s an issue with the header image. Maybe try to re-download the script. Check that the folder (Paravent_Resources) is next to your script file.

  7. Great script thank you. However, whatever setting I use the folded solid aways moves off screen, how do I get it to stay where it is originally? Many thanks E

  8. GREAT SCRIPT – THANKS
For NeXT version ( if ) πŸ™‚ how about random offset in mask sizes

  9. please help me , I use the folded solid aways moves off screen, how do I get it to stay where it is originally? thanks a lot

  10. It’s great!
In addition a random direction scrunch would be SUPER useful for those jobs where we can’t afford the time to stop motion trendy paper scrunches.
